18.12.2009 FAQ about Vista & 7

At Motic, we strive to ensure that our digital products are compatible with most operating systems. Of course, as time and technology progresses, certain imaging programs will utilize newer advances in operating systems, making our most up-to-date products not compatible with older operating systems such as Windows 98, ME and 2000 as well as Mac OS9.

With the launch of Microsoft Windows 7, we have tested our compatibility with our most up to date products. Some of our older products can have their firmware updated to work with 7 and Vista, for details on how, please click here (will launch a new Window).

21.01.2008 Motic Introduces Video Zoom System

The Motic Z-14 combines the best of an optical stereomicroscope, 1:14 optical zoom, with the best of a video based system, auto focus, in one system. The overall focus of the Z-14 is able to be switched from default auto focus to manual focus for samples and applications with numerous heights via the system's hand remote. Magnification can be changed by the STEP (whole number change) or the FINE (continuous) zoom controls.

The system has a 1 lux sensitivity and the system's brightness can be adjusted in real-time through the hand remote. A back light effect is available to further smooth out the image. All information detected is able to be output via RCA, S-Video, and USB2.0 simultaneously.

Standard equipped with Motic Images Plus 2.0 ML software, the Z-14 is capable of calibrated manual measurement, cataloguing, image comparison, and documentation in a convenient package.

Video based and with a 172mm [0.5X standard objective] working distance, the Z-14 is ideal for applications ranging from video inspection to micro welding to jewellery repair to biological dissection to training. The Z-14 is capable of expansion with numerous stands, auxiliary magnification and illumination allowing further usage in various fields.

01.12.2007 Motic Expands Worldwide Digital Classrooms

Motic has two software solutions available for Networked Digital Microscopy Classrooms for Educational and Professional needs. Having listened to Researchers, Professors and Students alike, DigiLab II and MoticNet both offer unique and innovative methods to link individual microscopy stations to a single Teacher or Supervisor station.

This supervisory station has full control not only of each individual student's computer, but also - more importantly - of each student's live microscopy image so that all aspects of image quality can be controlled from a single point ensuring that the students are looking at a properly set up image.

Our latest international editions include a first installation in Thailand at the Phra Mongkutklao Hospital which is part of the Royal Thai Army Medical Department.

This latest edition means that our Networked Classrooms are now being used from China to Canada, from Austria to Australia and from Tokyo to Thailand.
