The SMZ-171 stereomicroscope is Motic’s flagship line of stereomicroscopes; improvements to the optics and a wide array of modular accessories mean the SMZ-171 stereomicroscope displays distortion-free 3-dimensional stereoscopic images for a large number of potential applications. Attachments for polarization or dark field microscopy are easily added to the base model to enable alternate contrast methods. The versatility of the SMZ-171 is further enhanced by the selection of auxiliary lenses and eyepieces which enable a total magnification range of 2.25X - 200X providing appropriate magnification for most routine applications.

Addition of a Moticam microscopy camera enables the SMZ-171 to become a complete documentation workstation. A 5-position click-stop mechanism allows for easy reproduction of the magnified image between different users on different days.
